Pluto in Virgo or the 6th House

In Evolutionary Astrology, natal Pluto represents our Soul’s desires and evolutionary intentions. Evolution occurs by playing out our desires until we exhaust them.

We have a page about Pluto. I also highly recommend Jeffrey Wolf Green’s two Pluto books which are the basis for a lot of my thoughts on Pluto.

Your Evolutionary Intention

Pluto in the Sixth House or Virgo: You are learning lessons of service, humility, and self-improvement through intense self-analysis. You may struggle with perfectionism, guilt, and cycles of crisis. The evolutionary intent, indicated by the Pisces/12th House polarity point, is to develop a more holistic view of yourself and life, cultivate faith, and simplify your mental and emotional patterns. By aligning with a higher purpose and learning self-forgiveness, you can transform your critical nature into genuine service and wisdom.

About Pluto, the Nodes, and Soul Evolution

Pluto represents the main evolutionary intention for this lifetime. This intention includes integrating the polarity point (the opposite sign and house on the chart).

The nodes of the Moon are also a huge part of the evolutionary story. The South Node represents our past-life experiences, identity structure, and attachments. It represents our comfort zone, what is familiar to us, including strengths and weaknesses. Depending on aspects to Pluto and the nodal rulers, it can also represent karma. (Register for a free report on your karma as represented through Pluto and the Nodes.)

The North Node represents the identity structure that would most serve our evolutionary intention. This is how the nodes and Pluto fit together.

Pluto’s role in our life is in many ways to push or force us to give up our attachments to past ways of being so we can embrace new ways of being. This is not always a process we go through willingly—hence Pluto’s reputation as a harsh teacher. The best approach is to try to cooperate with the evolutionary changes that Pluto brings.
